I've been using a Mackie 1202vlz ( ~$250 used) as a mixer for my MOTM
system
and have found the flexible routing of the FX, monitor, Alt 3/4 & solo
buses to be very user friendly.
I use my rig mainly for processing.
I have my 410 & 420 filters connected to the FX sends & a 120 to the monitor
send.
The "top mount" locations of the jacks make patching simple. The 4 mic pre's
& 4 stereo in's make connecting other sound sources a breeze.

I plan on modding the board so that both FX sends are pre-fader. (right now
only FX send 1 is switchable).

For my money, it can't be beat - You can even replace the knobs with those
little Rat Shack/Alco PKES lookalikes for a not-quite-MOTM look...

Aren't the signal levels different? Like 1V p-p as opposed to 10V p-p? I've
never tried this, I just always thought the two levels were "incompatible." I
know there is the option of setting the input level for the 410, but did you
do the same with the 420?
