wavewarper problem

wavewarper problem

2006-08-06 by stiebz

there seems to be problem with my wavewarper,

if I give an input to the audio x input, I get no output whatsoever
independend of the knobsettings

the Y & Z seems to work OK, individually but also while 'warping'

I can read a voltage on the potmeter of X IN and the jack seems to
wired correctly, but other than that I have no clue what could be the
problem, anybody any idea ?

many thanks in advance !
steven

'X' is mainly a CV input, not audio (Y is the main audio input for warping).

short idea for a cool mod. why cannot X be an envelope follower ?

Better still, Rick - put a sine wave into audio x, an EG with a long
period into offset y, and any lfo output into z offset. Set the switch
to POWER. Watch your levels...

I could spend everyday with just the Wavewarper as the central
component of my patches! It does subtle timbres, extreme sidbands,
terrifying noises- all while allowing exceptional control through
modulation. Or destroying any chance of control - your choice!

If in the future Paul should be remembered for anything, I'll bet it's
this module. I got yer plain vanilla right here! All the other
so-called wave mangling modules are weak in comparison!

With the Wavewarper, just plug in and see what happens. Oh, and watch
your levels.

Chub

ps - did I mention that you should watch your levels?

chub ... your words in gods ears ... i am watching my osciloscope the
whole day making wonderful graphics with the warper ; ) today i had a
180 degree spinning cogwheel. its like lsd !

yo !

bummer...this one sounds fascinating..but looks like it's sold-out now..:(

The problem I found was that with a sinus signal in both x and y
inputs, I do not hear any warping of the y signal, regardless of the
knob positions, also unplugging the x input makes no difference

with only a sinus signal to the x input I did some measuring :
On R1 ( resistor between pot and TL072 ) I can read a voltage, but on
the resistor R5 ( resistor after TL072 )I do not find any voltage.
Would that indicate that there is a problem with the TL072 ?

problem solved !
R4 wasn't soldered properly, silly me !
If you would excuse me now, I have some warping to do :-)
thanks for your help,

That's the problem with the darn thing... I spend so much time making
cool patterns on the scope, that sometimes I forget about actually
making music with it!

Good! Now use all low frequencies and use it to drive a VCO!

Chub - sick with wavewarper power!
