I was reading the early version of the '650 manual. I thought (and I could be wrong) that it would do duophonic voice allocation ala the Odyssey or Octave Cat. Does it or do I misremember? -dave

As long as I've been on this group I still make the same mistake: send to poster instead of to the group. Crap. Either I'm stupid or the user interface SUCKS. I posted to David that the 650 has 2/2 mode which is essentially two duophonic modes if you set them up al Poly and on separate channels. You're not wrong. The interface sucks. Moe --- In motm@yahoogroups.com, "Mike Marsh" <michaelmarsh@...> wrote:

But is that two separate notes all the time, or two outputs that are either in unison or separate depending on how many notes you play? Didn't the Odyssey play two oscillators off one note, but if you played two notes at the same time the oscillators played different notes? Does the 650 do that?

Scott, The 650 has Unison mode, which stacks all available channels across how many notes are played. Sounds like what you are asking for. I think that's what David is looking for. -->Neil ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neil Bradley "If you owe the bank $100, it's your problem. I was referring to the yahoo list web interface, which I use instead of being email bombed from all the lists I belong to. In replying to your message, if I just hit send it will send it to you via private email instead of the list, which is what you want 99% of the time. The list owner/moderator sets the reply preferences within the yahoo group. The default can be reply to list or reply to sender. The preferences have been debated endlessly on the groups since long before yahoo purchased them from (?, there's a senior moment, I've forgotten). Anyway, a valuable life lesson is that in business or personal or public communication, you might want to *always* check the To: and CC: distribution lines prior to clicking "send". A quick spell check is also helpful. My (Fortune 500) company is awash in idiotic "me too" and "thanks" emails from people who think "reply to all" is a cool thing. Meanwhile, I hope to receive my first MOTM gear soon (a 650 and a triple resonant filter). These shall not be my last. Take care, Jim W. San Mateo, CA At 09:29 PM 4/3/2006, mate_stubb wrote:

Sounds like it. The Oddysey did it by setting one oscillator to respond to the high note and one to the low note. So if you hit only one key, you got both, but if you hit more than that, the highest went to one, the lowest to the other. Will unison do that high/low allocation? When you're using two similar oscillators, it's no big deal, but when one is FMing, ring modulating, or synched to the other, that's where the magic happens and why it's important that one is consistantly high and one consistantly low. Did that explain it? -dave --- In motm@yahoogroups.com, "mate_stubb" <mate_stubb@...> wrote:

:) Sorry to waste bandwidth complaining about it, though. Mike --- In motm@yahoogroups.com, "mate_stubb" <mate_stubb@...> wrote: > > You're not wrong.
