I don't know about SPectrol pots, but I have noticed that many OMEG pots 
have some kind of grease in them. If you get this on your fingers and later 
twin the strands of a wire it is impossible to solder that wire. And that 
grease is really sticky, you can't wash it away and hardly rub it off 
either... so just try not to touch the wiper pin...

Fortunately for us, all the pots us MOTMers use are sealed, unless I'm 
mistaken.
