Announcing Stooge Industries new website!

2006-01-18 by mate_stubb

Folks, I'm proud to announce the new Stooge Industries website:

http://www.stoogeindustries.com

We have been working hard over the last few months to take the little
hobby that Larry and I started with, and turn it into a real business.
By bringing Paul Haneberg on board, we have gained manufacturing
expertise, entrepreneurial business sense, and a lot of enthusiasm.

We still have much to do, so you will see many mentions of "soon". The
great news is that we will be manufacturing almost everything
ourselves and stocking many products, so that our time to deliver will
be measured in days, not months.

Our online store is operational and we have already accepted several
orders from customers using it.

I wish to express heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who
has participated in our little "club". Also thanks go to Paul
Schreiber, for giving us a reason to start in the first place. You
ain't seen nothin' yet!

My new email address is: moe (at) stoogeindustries (dot) com.

Long live Stooge Industries new website!

2006-01-18 by thomas white

Congratulations Stooges!
Larry would be so damn proud. I am very excited for the future of Stooge Industries and look forward to placing more orders with you. I am particularly excited for the JLH-822 kit as I only got the 831 from Larry's first run. I just placed my first order for some brackets now. Thanks for the services and best luck with the launch of the website, may you be overburdened with orders HA!

Looks really good.

The division of G. C. Fuller Mfg. Co. line caught my eye -- went into my
shop and found that I own two of Paul's spark lighters.

Any relation to the other Fullers (files and countersinks/instybits)?

This weekend in MOTM

2006-01-23 by Scott Juskiw

I had a Moog 1130 Percussion Controller that wasn't working. With the
recent talk of drum triggers I figured I'd spend some time diagnosing
and repairing it. Luckily, it was just a FET that had gone bad and
was easily replaced. There's a picture of it near the bottom of this
page:

http://www.tellun.com/motm/darmok/20060108/20060108.html

The circuit board is inside the drum and it gets power from a 6 pin
Cinch-Jones plug. This plugs into the accessory socket on older Moog
gear (Minimoog, Polymoog, etc.). The 1130 outputs a trigger when you
hit the drum and a control voltage that is proportional to how hard
you hit the drum. The circuit outputs both S-Trigger
(Moog/Korg/Yamaha) and V-Trigger (MOTM/Roland) but the cable assembly
only has the Moog 2 pin Cinch-Jones plug for S-Trigger. I added
another phone jack connected to the V-Trigger so I can plug that
directly into Darmok to fire the EGs.

It would be nice to be able use the 1130 with my synth without
requiring the Minimoog/Polymoog for power. I doubt I'll make a panel
just for that purpose, but maybe some day.

It's not quite as fun a controller as the theremin. But I can use it
to trigger those Carl Palmer/Toccata type of sounds.

Wow, this controller looks pretty good, like in near mint condition.
Are you the original owner?

   :-) Michael.

It is in mint condition. I only recently got it, the box was still
factory sealed, not even a finger print on it. An amazing find. That
Tardis comes in handy sometimes.

Wow! Congrats on that find! Timetravel is a good thing ;-)

   Good night, Michael.

I can confirm that the new shopping cart works just fine.

Are these mounting brackets or armor plating? Sheesh. ;-)
