wiring up the '900

2005-11-10 by Sjaak

Hello all,

A few days ago I recieved my 900 PSU. I'm anxious to see what my first
modules will (or will not, ofcourse), do. But, I have a few minor
questions.

To wich transformer lugs must I solder the AC source? They are numbered
5 1 3 2 4. I guess it would be 1 and 2. Where do I connect ground? I
currently have it wired to the power-one chassis, attached to a spare
hole. Any hints appreciated.

Thank you,

I think that before this can be answered, you need to confirm your location, or more specifically, what line voltage you have. I assume based on your Email address that you live in The Netherlands, home of Rembrandt and the excellent Rabobank Cycling Team.

I indeed live in The Netherlands and I measure a ~230V from my
powergrid at home.

The area where I live is quite popular among the bicyclists. So I
regularly see those tight Rabobank t-shirts going up and down the
hills. :-)

Kind regards,

I already figured it out! Jumper lugs 2&3 and apply AC to 1&5.

I'm happy to report another powered MOTM user has joined the club. :)
My 101 worked straight away, now for the other ones...

I'm glad to hear that you're on the grid. 'Cause the next Email was to say that I couldn't accept the liability for a PS wiring error since it could kill you. ;-)

The wires you got will probally only fit in one possible way. (at
least, this is the case
for the '900) Inspect the sizes of the cableplugs and how they fit to
their headers.

The only thing you have to make sure, is you connect the AC source to
the correct transformer lugs (pins), and wich of those pins you need
to jumper. (see the note on the Power-One PSU chassis)

Indeed, I faced the same "eh.."-moment, when my '900 arrived a little
while ago. :)
Good luck!

finishing the '950 then testdrive on all my modules

2005-11-14 by richard bartz

hi,

i received a 950 construction manual pdf. so now everything is clear,
the 950 works perfect
in 230 volt mode.

after finishing the 950 i did a testdrive on all my modules. everything
works really fine, only the
480 cs filter sounds really strange ... maybe that module was to
difficult for me ; (.

i can hear the input signal only (really quite) when taking it from the
bp output. if i take it via lp ...
nothing. there is no reaction on the filter knobs ... ideas ?
