I would be interested in the 1209B Joystick and button device. In MOTM format, I would like to see scaling knobs for the joystick and more trigger buttons to justify a 2U module.

So, if I go to the trouble of laying out MOTM faceplates for some or all the 1200 series,
who would be interested?

Drop a note to sales@wiard.com if a large format version is a "I gotta have it" thing.

That would be nice, but have you seen the price? For how cheap it is, I don't expect you're getting any additional features.

I don't have the skills to create a joystick from scratch (my plan was to buy 2 Wiard joysticks and put them in a 1U motm panel,,, pretty sure they will fit). I would definately be interested in a how to guide to make a bigger joystick to throw in a MOTM system.
So you skilled people should get in those MUUB designs to Scott Tellun, So I can vic it and get myself some joysticks.

By coincidence, just yesterday morning I was trying to find a source of
joystick mechanisms. I came up empty-handed, except for some very expensive
(~$300) industrial units. If anyone knows of or finds a supplier for
something more in the hobbyist price range, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Stooge Larry was working on this exact concept: find a good joystick
and use a MUUB for the circuitry. If anybody wants to find the
joystick and do the panel I can do the circuit design.

Doepfer re-sells an ALPS joystick for this purpose. It could probably
be found outside of them, though.

I got Harry's notes as a PDF for this.
I send it to the stooges. I'm not sure if I can put them on line
somewhere, but I guess I can send it.
Mail me privately.

2005-11-09 by mate_stubb

I have Larry's design papers on the joystick circuit. I'll make them
public after the MUUB contest ends.

My own solution was that I bought a couple of the wiard joysticks and
threw away the frac panels. They will be going in my performance
console for the Synth of Doom whenever I can get it built. It will
have joysticks, my ribbon controller, misc patchable buttons and
stuff, and possibly a step sequencer.

Joystick knob, 35 cents

http://www.meci.com/Catalog/Item/bc20c3f5-c1bd-4dea-be0a-30e0b3790e37

Joystick, $3.95

http://www.alltronics.com/resistors.htm

93P005

These reputably will work together though I have not tried it. The knob
looks the same as the Wiard knob but the joystick does _not_ appear to match
the Wiard joystick which has a threaded metal shaft.
