Quick question about power consuption

2005-09-05 by Miguel Mendoza

Hello all, please could anybody tell me if when speaking about +-15 V. 15 ma max. the module consumes 30 ma or only 15.
Perhaps it's a stupid question but I'm thinking about it and I don't find the answer ;-)
Thanks!

Current is drawn separately through the +15V and -15V supplies. So
you could have 30 mA drawn from +15V and 20 mA drawn from -15V. I
suppose if a module draws the same amount from each supply that this
could be annotated as "+-15 V 15 mA" meaning that it draws 15 mA from
each supply for 30 mA total.

Thanks a lot for your answer Scott, so can we think the same way about the a MOTM 950 power supply which draws +-15 v 800 mA, 800 mA from each power supply for a 1600 mA total? (Plus the +5V 3mA of course).
Thank you again.

+5V 3A. 3mA is a bit anemic. :-P
Thank you again.
No charge. :-D
