So I want to build some 1/4" cables.  According to Paul my resin-core
solder is, like, SOOOO 70s, man.  What solder do you good folks
recommend I use for this kind of work?

Please don't say acid-core.

I still use resin core for cables. If I didn't have a half ton of it 
to use up, I'd use the no clean stuff for cables.
