While waiting on the real panner module, has anyone come up with a
natural sounding panning patch using existing modules?

I can get sound to ping pong around any number of ways, but I can't
get the pan law right to make a natural pan. That smooth swirling
auto-panner effect is elusive...

Tips, thanks...

I've done this, but not with standard modules, I built my own VCAs. I
find that the best way to get a smooth pan is to use linear inputs on
VCAs with a sine wave controlling the pan position. Here's an example:

Use the MOTM-190 VCAs (in linear mode) and a '510 WaveWarper driven by a Sine
Out of a '320. Adjust the '510 to get a waveshape like a flattened, rectified
signal.

Great idea. I am using the 320 sine and 190 VCAs (audio side).
I will try this awesome trick of using the wavewarper to re-shape the curve.

I need regular homework assignments to remember how to operate that thing.
I will probably have to put the scope on it to figure it out.

Thanks for the tips.

A Veeblefetzer would come in handy for this:

I love mine! It actually gives a better visual indication of slow
waveforms than a 'scope. On a 10V p-p full scale signal each LED
indicates a 1/2 volt change. I laid out the LEDs in a reverse-S shape,
resembling a sinewave.

Oh man! Is there ANYTHING the WaveWarper can't do?! Paul could have
a website dedicated to '510 uses and abuses. I can see it now:

1.) Guitar Fuzzbox (thanks Mike Marsh!)
2.) Rhythm Generator/Clock (for REAL swing!)
3.) Cat Repellant
4.) Grounds for Divorce

Heck, the LFO applications alone will keep you busy for years.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
