Blacet Time Machine /MOTM format

2005-01-06 by Don Ojeman

This week I have time to assemble my Blacet Time
Machine and Dark Star to MOTM format.

I have a question on what linear pots to use I have
look over the parts list on Dave's hotrodmotm site,
Bourns #91A1A-B24-B18 50k CP Pot @20% , I would like
to use Vishays Spectrols #149-09-10-104, 100k cermet
@10%.. the Spectrol 50k pot are only 1/8" shaft the
alco knobs are MOTM Standard 1/4" as you know.
I like low tolorance and ppm, If I use 100k pots will
there be a big change on the delay effects and other
unmatched effects?, Do I need the Detent on one of the
pots?
The question is 50k vs 100k pots in the TM circuit
what should I do I will be ordering the pots, thanks
Larry the panels and brackets are great.

100K pots should work fine. If the WET/DRY mix pot (R6) is 100K, the
output level will be slightly higher. I would try it and see. Making
R28 smaller would compensate. My regen pot (R2) does not have a detent
and it isn't a problem. I was planning to use 100K pots in my Time
Machines, but because they were out of stock I bought 50K
Vishay/Spectrol 149-71503.

Paging Todd Faulkner!

2005-01-06 by Greg James

Hello, anybody seen or heard from Todd lately? I've tried to email him
this week with no success.

Thanks,
Greg James

RE: Todd Faulkner

I am reluctantly posting this to the list.

Last September Todd Faulkner said he had three Neural Agonizer kits
available for sale. I "bought" one for $525 using a personal check. Since
then, Todd has responded to my email inquiries twice: once in early October
to acknowledge my purchase and once in late November to tell me he's still
waiting on pots.

I waited until the holidays were over to continue my follow-ups. Many of you
saw my "Paging Todd Faulkner" message on January 6th. Even though I've tried
to reach Todd to find out what's going on, he has not responded. I was told
he moved in early January so I no longer have his current physical address.

I'm letting everyone know this so they can form their own opinions. One
thing I have learned which I think needs to be said is that Todd is not, in
any way, associated with Synthesis Technology or Stooge Enterprises. Todd
misrepresents himself as a "stooge" which was the reason why I chose to do
business with him. Please don't make the same assumption that I did.

I've been told my experience with him is not unique. I still hold out hope
I'll either get my kit or my money back. But either way, please consider
what I share here before you send him money. If he makes me whole on my
transaction, I will post that to this group. In the meantime, unless Todd
decides to become responsive, I must assume I've lost my money.

Sincerely,
Greg James
