More 480

More 480

Yamaha lovers.

The 480 is a piece of work. You're going to love it. I have a CS-80 here to compare it to,
and it really has the right feel. Of course in application, it makes radically different sounds.

While beta-testing I recorded the following frivolity:

Most of the sounds are a single 300 VCO feeding the 480, except for the end in which you
hear it processing a rhodes. There's lots of sub-audio clicks in here, as I find that a useful
way to excite the filter to discover its qualities -- but it's kind of annoying as well.

It was my experience that this is one of the most versatile motm filters yet and I plan on
building a whole bunch.

Out.

I own a CS-40M and all of demo's of this filter sound
like they could have been made by the 40. It is
obviously a very distinctive filter and I have not
heard one way or another, but the filter in the 40M
has to be the same as in the 80.

And... of course I have a 480 on order.
