Analogue Systems to MOTM format?

Analogue Systems to MOTM format?

2004-08-12 by elherbus

Hi everyone,

How difficult is it to convert AS modules to MOTM format? (I'm
intrigued by the RS310 reverb/chorus...) I assume that in addition
to the wiring for pots and jacks I would have to change the power
connector, but I don't know what else would be involved. Looking at
their website, it doesn't appear that the modules are offered as
kits, only preassembled. Is this going to be a huge headache?

It depends on what you want to do.
Alternative 1: Remove the AS front panel and jacks (and pots?),
change power connector. New MOTM front panel, jacks, (pots), knobs
and some bracket to secure the PCB. Should be easy enough. Most of
the job will be in getting a new front panel with all the text and
graphics, as well as changing the power connector.
Alternative 2: Using the original front panel, but place it within a
MOTM front panel, a la the way Blacet modules can be mounted within
MOTM modules. You still need to add 1/4" jacks and wire the jacks and
change power connector.

I would go for alternative 1, but both alternatives have their ways.

Are AS systems powered by +/- 15 or 12 volts?
