As long as I don't have to run Linux on it. ;-) I worked with the PXA255 @ Intel (and the PXA 270, too). It's the most horrid chip to set up and get working the way you want it (the power management modes are almost impossible to understand). You're better off doing something with an Atmel ARM board of any sort. -->Neil ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neil Bradley "Your mistletoe is no match for my T.O.W. missile!" That's exactly the kind of thinking that led to much of the crap on the market today. Now forget that nonsense and get back to analog modules. :) Larry

Hmmm...too small to be a good paperweight. The edges are too sharp for the dog to fetch. Operating my synth over Bluetooth kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? In college I rebuilt a Picker MASH X-ray machine and took quite a few x-rays with it. I did a lot of electronics equipment and got photos of the pcb traces, components, and bond wires inside the transistors. The 100 KV cables and the giant console and meters were quite interesting. I still have a spare 100 KV meter. Maybe I should interface it into my MOTM! The lead gloves and apron were also kind of neat. Funny thing, the Heathkit FET voltmeter never really did work after being x-rayed for 20 minutes ... I'll bet Larry Hendry could hook that to his MOTM somehow. Especially as one of those meters reads 0 to 115 Kilovolts! -Richard Brewster ivancu@... wrote:

I have some VERY nice white face Westinghouse panel meters that were made in 1934. I have one voltmeter and one ammeter. They are too big (about 5" round) for my MOTM set up. But, I am planning to build a nice table lamp for my studio with these on it. Maybe I should make the lamp voltage controlled with some kind of TRIAC arrangement. I often have access to large meters 4" to 8" that are marked in high voltages and currents. We pretty much us only digital these days. If someone has a particular interest, I'll be happy to keep my eyes open. I have some now I am not planning to use that were from a hydroelectric dam generator control. Larry
