MOTM-485 Yamaha GX-1 Filter!

I had the opportunity to really play with the prototype Old Crow built of this filter back at the AHMW Gathering in March. This will be a nice addition to the MOTM line-up to say the least. In its basic form it is very well behaved with some little sonic characteristics that give it real charm. As I have said here before, there is a res pot that didn't do a whole lot when it was cranked either way. Old Crow said this mimics the original filiter almost exactly. I told him that in needs more variety to keep people happy. No problem Old Crow said. He had very thoughtfully included a trim pot (and many others!) for just this purpose. When we finally got the trim pot cranked up, this filter really started to come into its own!!! It started to scream in its own very special way. It is not your typical VCF resonance to say the least. I think hearing it in person or in a nice sample is the only way to really get the true flavor; words won't do it justice. Been wanting a **new** MOTM modules that doesn't cost over $300? This is the way to go!!! Where are all of the old-schoolers who used to buy *at least* one of every module??? Like the '420, these filters work great in pairs too. Make sure you order yours today. Cheers! Shemp __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
