#5000...finally!

#5000...finally!

2004-05-14 by Paul Schreiber

About to pack up MOTM module #5000, a MOTM-490 uVCF kit going to John Glenn of
Evans Music City in Houston TX (my mom would take me there in jr high school to
look at MiniMoogs and stuff).

As a thanks to *everyone*, MOTM power-user Roy Harter has donated copies of his
MOTM-laden CD. Every order sent gets one until I run out (let's just say that
won't be anytime soon, I got 82 pounds of CDs).

I'll generate the "official bragging/gloating" message later on, with
pseudo-interesting statistics and thoughts along the way. But for now, back to
the salt mines :)

Congrats, Paul!

That's quite a milestone.

Congratulations Paul and John Glenn. :)

Don't send me one, Roy already did. I have not completely fini9shed
listening to it as it is one of those recordsing that requires some
listening effort. But, I woudl like to say that much of what I have heard
so far has been well worth the effort. It is a unique and intense
recording. So, set some time aside to concentrate. Nice work Roy. But, my
old eyes cannot read the small print on the othewise great artwork. :)

#5000... That's amazing - congratulations! Thank you again for this great
product. It has been, and continues to be, a real joy.

Congrats Paul!
Good thing this whole MOTM thing made you filthy rich,
heh. ;)

Let hope John will like the 490 with the platinum front
plate. You can always paint it black.

Very curious now...

Yeah, baby!!! YEAH!!!

Thanks for making the Engine of Chaos a reality, Paul. It will
continue to grow with your help, too! Hopefully, my CD will become
one of your sample selections for your customers. Then again, given
the "eeww" face that many visitors to the studio make, that may not
be such a good idea...

Why "eeww" Chub? I don't get it.

Some people just don't like what I call "music", I guess. That and
my studio/lab is - how can I say this - not always visitor friendly.
Right now I've got the SpeakJet module prototype wired up, a 15 volt
sheet beam tube modulator project sprawled over the bench, piles of
parts everywhere...it's a mess. The drumkit, two half stacks AND the
Engine of Chaos, oh and now the recorder and desk...it all sort of
makes it difficult to impress people that I'm sane, much less making
music!

Seriously, if ANYONE needs parts for some oddball project (no I'm not
giving away TL072's or other staples of MOTM-ism) please ask! I have
probably got it in spades, have it in the original packaging, and
already have a circuit designed around it. I'm not above bringing
home tons of parts for use "someday" that never arrives. Stuff just
comes to me, it's really sort of embarrassing. Don't bother
searching for esoteric germanium whatsits or funky antique knobs or
mica caps from the '30's - I have it!

It is not a bother to help out with projects, either. So many have
helped me, that I need to give back to others. Drop me a line and
help my wife clean out our home!

ps- anyone need chips for those Dark Stars? Got two...

I like it just fine, I guess. Got your cd in my motm300 kit package

Any chance you could let us know what the liner notes are here?
There's no chance I (or most people) will be able to read the tiny
print until I get lasik, and/or yet another pair of reading glasses -
I already have to use a series of 3 (!) pairs of glasses to solder
together Paul's kits.

Thanks - I've got a DSC kit right here waiting to go. If I screw it
up, I'll be thinking of you...
