max. Depth of Module-PCBs

max. Depth of Module-PCBs

2004-03-24 by tontaub

Hi Larry,

in order to determine the depth of my cabinets I'd like to know what's
an reasonable assumption of the maximum depth of MOTM (and alike) modules.

Background:
Your drawing with the PCB bracket specifications shows a max. length
of about 181mm (7 1/8") for the bracket. Your single row cabinets are
10" deep (outside measure) which is quite nice but I want my boxes as
slim as possible.
OTOH Andy Wilson's cabinet
(http://www.techman.synth.net/techman_website2_00000d.htm) is too
small in depth to maintain reasonable flexibility for swapping modules
etc.
(his PSU is mounted behind Tony's LFOs which have very small PCBs).

 Thanks a lot!
     Michael.
