Note about 2N3904s in kits

2004-02-28 by Paul Schreiber

My latest batch of 2N3904 transistors has the center lead *slightly* offset from
the 2 outside leads. The pc board pattern has them in a straight line. These
will go into the board fine as-is, but the anal folks (you know who you are) may
want to un-do the lead crimp by squeezing the lead with a pair of needlenose
pliers first.

A few more mods

I've updated my "mods" page to include some recent changes. Most of
these are simple LED modifications or daughterboard add ons.

Re: [motm] A few more mods

2004-02-29 by Richard Brewster

First, my compliments to Scott Jiskiw's web pages. Very nice! I have
done most of those mods, too. Except I don't have any blue LEDs (yet).

Now, as to taking things apart. I am more than halfway through
retrofitting the first of my two Blacet Miniwaves for the 10-EPROM
Hylander expander board.

http://www.hylander.com/miniwave.html

I went with the 10-position thumbwheel, because my Miniwaves are housed
in custom $chaeffer panels. To save the panels I am just replacing the
A/B EPROM toggle switch. I have become very intimate with my Dremel
tool (and a lot of cardboard and masking tape). I removed all parts
from the panel to cut hole for the switch, including the eight LEDs,
which I replaced with nice green T1 Lumex panel mount units, Mouser
696-SSI-LXR1612GD, (not available in blue, Scott). You can find my
Schaeffer panel design in the ModularSynthPanels group files, if you're
interested.

I am one of those oddballs who loves to build a synth almost as much as
playing with it. I can hardly wait even to take my own things apart --
again!

Next December, I'll put up my pine tree modifications ;)

I like the 800 mod. One feature I really wish the envelope had was a
led follower for watching the envelop.

Mike,

Here's an easy way to do it if you are into a little DIY:

Is that sort of like being a little pregnant?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
