uSeq control

2004-01-27 by xiphiguy

I was looking at the uSeq on the MOTM website, and it got me
wondering: could the MIDI port be used to connect a MIDI controller
with assignable pots to control the sequencer's functions? I'm really
looking forward to having all the versatility of this module, but at
the same time I really prefer to have pots for control rather than
menus, and I'll bet there are others who feel the same way. Mr.
Shreiber?

I would be one of those that feel like it would be HUGE if the uSEQ
responded to MIDI CC messages while it was running. Paul is this something
that the hardware would support in some future operating system release?

Please forgive my misspelling your name, Mr. Schreiber.
Chalk it up to momentary blindness: it seems I was unable to "C" ;)

In the current software definition (and being a definition, subject to changes),
there are some MIDI messages that the uSeq will respond to. Right now, they
mainly have to do with "transport controls", such as Start, Stop, Continue,
Change Program and MIDI Clock.

I suppose it would not be that difficult to pick some CC messages and assign
them to things like Tempo, Gate Time and Sequence Length.

Those are all good things. :)

Well, certainly it would not be appropriate in MOTM land to call any new
function into service that would be described as "not too difficult."
Thinking in terms of being a real pain in the ass, what are things we could
put on the wish list -- actually reaching in an changing the tuning of one
of the CV outs? Humm? :)

Afterall, it's just code ......

ROTFLMAO
Sorry, I just could not resist.

This would be *EXTREMELY* useful!
