Normalled 320 FM input

Normalled 320 FM input

2004-01-11 by Robert van der Kamp

For those interested, I'm using the 320 I recently built as
an VCO, but it needs a constant DC level in the FM input to
bring it into audio range.

I didn't want to use one of my 800's for that task, so I
came up with a simple solution. I'm now feeding the 320 FM
input NC (not connected) pin with +5V directly taken from
my 950 PSU. So if no jack is inserted in the FM input, the
320 can be put into audio range by simply cranking up the
FM pot. :)

I checked with Paul, btw, before I tried.

Btw, I'm quite impressed by the sound quality of feeding a
320 through a modulated 490 (or 440). Just curious, how
much is this different from using a 300 as a VCO? Is the
saw fatter, fuller, brighter, different in any way?

What a great idea! The 830 mixer has a DC offset output that you
could use, too. So with regard to your freebie selection, that's
possibility. Not sexy, but very useful. Also, the 120 is an
absolute timbral monster. Of all your choices, this would be my
pick.
