Front or back?

Front or back?

2003-10-20 by Robert van der Kamp

Hi all,

I just completed the 950 (my first electronics kit, ever!),
and it went smooth thanks to the great step by step manual,
and the nicely prepped parts.

I'm about to start with a 'real' kit now, one with all those
pesky resistors and caps and stuff. ;)

My question is this: do I solder on the front of the
pc-board, or on the back?

- Robert

You solder on the back. There will be tiny bit of solder 'leaking' to the top, but that's OK.

Robert

Take a look at the step by step digital photos Larry put together:
http://www.wiseguysynth.com/larry/motm/construct.htm

These are very helpful when you're starting out, and a great
complement to MOTM's excellent instructions. You might want to print
out one of the pictures of a completed circuit board and use that as a
reference for soldering.

Thanks, those are rather sexy looking pictures indeed, a
sure help! :) I guess I'll start with that 101.
