Yep, I'll drive back to Missouri to use my dad's fantastic wood shop when
the time comes. He has all the planers, joiners and saws, etc. etc. that I
need.

He also has a supplier for oak, walnut and cherry. Last time he checked, oak
was $2.50 a board foot, cherry and walnut were $5. This was a couple of
years ago, so I'll have to check the current prices. If I can't get 12"
wide, I'll just laminate 2 pieces, it's on the bottom of the cabinet anyway.

The only thing holding me up is a solution for rails, dag nabbit!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna dig up a good cabinet pic from a Moog 55 brochure I have and post
it for everybody.

One of the sites (Synthfool? Analog Heaven? I can't remember) has a series
of detailed photos of the front, back, and insides of a 55 cabinet that
might help you.

Dave, please do post the photos. I have some I got from Kevin's site, I
was going to post to the list to illustrate details of this discussion, but
I was waiting for Kevin's permission to use them (I just asked today).
But, actually, it would be easier for anyone interested in Kevin's photos
to just visit the synthfool site. Certainly a worthwhile trip. And while
you are there, take time to read the "truth zone." It gives a lot of
insight to what a respectable guy Kevin is.

Lemme fan the flames...

This is what Kevin refers to as The Truth Zone:

And something similar involving Gibson (no bearing on Kevin):
