Punchy Bass

2003-06-29 by Mike Marsh

Hello All -

I don't know exactly what's meant by 'punchy'.  I uploaded a small
demo of a 300->110 with the 110 mod'ed by an 800 (Attack=0 Delay=4
Sustain=1.5 Release=0). Two waveforms were used SAW and SQR. a 101
was creating the 'melody'.

Paul W - maybe it is your 110. Both of mine sound the same with
this patch, and my 190 on X sounds even better!

Mike

I thought you said it happened with all waveforms?

it absolutely does (happen with all waveorms). i don't know what would lead you to think i said otherwise.
anyways, the filter doesn't have anything to do with it - other sources just through the vca do the same thing without the filter. it's just harder to hear without filtering what's going into the vca because the high freq content is similar to the clicks.
