Anyone want to do a group purchase of knobs?

Anyone want to do a group purchase of knobs?

2003-06-05 by jwbarlow@aol.com

Sorry for all these parts related questions.

Along with all my other stocking up, I need to get some MOTM compatible knobs (PKES90B1/4 / Tyco 5-1437624-3). I went to Dee Electronics and found that the price had changed from what Moe has listed, and that they don't have any in stock and they would have to be ordered from the manufacturer.

The minimum order would be
250 pcs @ $1.685 each. The mfg has stock at this time.

This is about double what I need. If anyone is interested in making a group buy, let me know in the next few days as I will probably want to get the order in next week.

Thanks!
John B.

John,

Carlton-Bates has a much better
price. http://www.carlton-bates.com/online/default.asp You need to set up
an account with them to buy and even browse their catalog, but I just
checked their current prices. I buy from these folks all the time.

Qty 1 @ $1.16
Qty 50 @ $1.08
Qty 100 @ $1.01

Thanks David! Great tip!

You are SOOOO right. The price is great and they have them in stock. I'm
still getting my order together so I'll get back to those who've contacted me
about the group buy.

BTW, while they have a price break at 100, there is no break at 500 (still
$1.01 each).

This is my last post regarding the knob purchase (except to respond to any further replies). I have had a few replies to my initial query and I intend to make the order tomorrow or Monday. I have sent individual responses to all of you that want to take part. If you did not receive one and are interested, please respond to me ASAP.

While a few are interested in the 20 to 25 lots of knobs, I really don't see any advantage if one is ordering 100 or more since there is no price break for orders greater than 100, they would be shipped twice (and there is the possibility that you might have to pay CA sales tax -- though I'm not sure if they charge this). So, if you are ordering that many you may want to think about getting them directly from Carlton-Bates.

Now let's hear more about Paul's Buchla!
