Stooge Panel Pricing?

Stooge Panel Pricing?

2003-05-02 by paulhaneberg

I'm wondering when pricing on the Stooge Panels is going to be
announced. I would like to order as many panels as my budget will
allow. I'm hoping Larry or Dave can post some sort of table,
perhaps with size (1U, 2U etc.) on one axis and quantity breaks on
the other, along with any charges that might be required for
printing plates, negatives or the like. I'm trying to get several
custom designs ready, but I don't want to kill myself getting these
done only to find out I can't afford them all until next time.
I would also welcome jack mounted Stooge Brackets. Several of my
planned panel designs are really meant to interface MOTM to rack
mounted FX units, in some cases requiring buffering. I was
originally going to make large pads on my circuit boards and sold
them directly to the lugs on the jacks. Although I will probably
hold off until next time on ordering any really large panels, I'd
like to get some idea on pricing all the way up to 10U. I'm working
on some vocoder ideas which would require a large panel or panels,
and will probably try to build some sort of step sequencer if Dave
doesn't get the SuperMoe happening soon.

MOTM Standards for Utility Modules

Would it make sense to have a few standard "utility" panels to cover
situations like this? This would drive down cost for everybody.

Some ideas are:
  * Patch panel
  * 1u power switch
  * Effects send/return

hello all,
i'm very much into the idea of a simple 1U patch panel
8, 10 or 12 numbered jacks that's it
i'm sure each of us would have a different use for one of these things (i
have eight tie lines to my mixer for example in a very very ugly panel)
maybe the legend would read 'patch panel'
maybe there would be a small white box below that for a neatly handwritten
legend

i'd be interested to see how the effect send / return idea works (unless
i've just described it above)

also, maybe a simple 1U switch panel - again very simple
three source jacks & one destination jack - multiply by two
one switch with four markings, - off, a, b ,c
then for live use (or whatever) you can wire yourself a panel where you have
a midi/cv convertor source, cv keyboard source and random cv source
selectable on one switch, with a null position if need be
again with deliberately vague labelling it would be different things on
different systems

thoughts anyone..?
