ELP Contest

ELP Contest

2003-04-28 by paulhaneberg

I'm curious as to what happened with the ELP contest. I was going
to submit Jerusalem and was about 3/4 finished when my MIDI adapter
gave up the ghost. :(
I'm wondering if there will be any mp3s posted anywhere. As an old
ELP fan I'd be real interested in hearing them. (And I mean old in
both senses of the word.)
I'm also hoping there will be another contest so I can enter after I
get my new adapter.

Well, since I only got 1 entry (cough cough), I'll leave it "open ended". Send when you can.

I just bought a replacement Midi Adapter on Ebay. I'll finish
Jerusalem as soon as I get it and send it in. I can't believe you
only got one entry. I thought there were a bunch of progheads out
there. Anyone for a Genesis or Gentle Giant contest?

Since I am a proghead, I'd like to have an entire MOTM page on the website for ProgHead stuff.

The air is pretty thin if someone want's to play like
Gentle Giant!

(Buying albums from Echolyn, Spock's Beard or
Engel wider Willen is the closest thing to a GG contest,
but still it's nothing like Kerry Minnear and the boys
in the band.)

Hey - I would love to do any of the above mentioned prog-tunage.
Problem is, I can't even get the time to work on my bands CD these
days - so another project (and I'm anal about quality so I just
couldn't send in some hack version of Tarkus)is beyond my ability
right now. Sorry about that for now - I do have some older recordings
of my ELP-ish-ness, GGiant-ness, and Genesis-ness, but I didn't have
a freakin MOTM back then so the whole contest thing would be moot -
eh?

Oh well - keep the thought alive and maybe when we can get another 10
hours in a day, we'll have a contest!

Cheers,

Rog

Shameless self-promotional prog-rock plug:

Another MP3 off the same album:

Sorry, no MOTM on that record...but lawd knows there will be on the
next one!
