MOTM

Any word yet on the status of Tony's new MIDI-to-CV converter?
I know the last model was a rack mount. I'm guessing his new 
model may conform to the MOTM form factor standard. Or not.

I know Paul has plans for a MIDI-to-CV module but with all the
other designs he's currently working on, I didn't know if he was
shooting for 2003 or not. At any rate, I'm holding off on finalizing
the design of my 12U Moog III style cab until I know something
about availability and form factors. 

BTW, I'm really enjoying participation in this list, and all of the
really fine people out there that are insuring that MOTM remains
so vital.

Well, Paul's design is well known - MOTM-650, 2U. There's a pic at
http://www.synthtech.com/new_stuff.html if you haven't seen it yet. 
Paul would have to answer your question about availability.

As for the new Expressionist, I have seen pics in prototype form. 
Definitely MOTM form factor, seems like I remember it being 2U also, 
but possibly 3U. Tony?

Does the 650 support setting different tunings?
some digital synths will accept tuning dumps of scales with the pitches 
defined in cents, so they can use just intonation or whatever.

The MOTM is really suited to alternate tuning becase the oscillators drift 
so little.

If the 650 does not support setting alternate tunings, is it a planned 
upgrade?  is it a possible DIY project for a firmware programmer?  does 
the module come with source code?

if this MIDI-to-CV doesn't and won't support these features, is there 
another one out there that does or will?

According to the feature sheet, yes, it supports microtuning.
