MOTM

Hi,

I'm considering the purchase of an A6 as the closest thing 
to a modular in a box with patches, and also want to drive 
the sep. outputs through my MOTM stuff.

I'd love to hear any comments from you on the A6, regarding 
its sound and features. All I have is mp3s, not the real 
thing.

I've got both an MOTM and an A6. In fact, in my studio, the modular 
sits directly above the A6.

The A6's modulation routings are so deep that one could almost consider 
it a polyphonic modular. Obviously you don't get the physicality of an 
honest-to-god _patch_, but I mean in possible signal paths, it's pretty 
impressive. I find that working on one of them (either the MOTM or the 
A6) gives me ideas for techniques that transfer readily to the other, 
and that they compliment each other very nicely.

Sonically: the MOTM is "bigger", and the MOTM Moog Filter is much 
closer to the real thing than the version in the A6, but still the A6 
does a really good Memorymoog/Source, Matrix 12, and CS-80. If you 
don't own one of those already, don't bother looking. Just get the A6. 
What it doesn't do, your MOTM probably can.
