Module Brainstorm

2003-03-04 by paulhaneberg <phaneber@one.net>

Please excuse me if a similar post already appeared. Yahoo is being
strange again.

Module Ideas - Not necessarily in order of preference:

1. VC Quadrature Oscillator capable of very low frequencies
2. Companion Module for 450 Filter - Audio outputs for each band and
an envelope follower output for each band as well for control
purposes.
3. Voltage Controlled Envelope Generator
4. Gate Delay - Should preserve gate length. Voltage Control of
Delay would be nice. 2 or 3 delays in one module would be ideal.
5. Module to produce a Gate with VC length. Gate would be produced
at end of envelope. Would enable EGs to be used as oscillators.
6. Input module with mic and line preamps and an envelope follower.
7. Output module with multiple balanced line outputs for recording
and driving amplifiers or powered speakers - should also include a
headphone amplifier.
8. MOTMized clone of the famed Mutron BiPhase with VC Parameters
9. A series of modules based on a digital delay with a VC clock.
The clock speed would have to be continuous and not stepped. One
module could be centered around a short delay, another around a very
long delay. I'd like to see a module with a delay of over a minute.
Multiple taps would also be nice.
10. A voltage controlled frequency divider.
11. A frequency multiplier. I believe this can be realized by
either using a MiniWave type table or by several stages, each of
which rectifies a triangle wave input, then removes the DC component
and amplifies.
12. A Fourier series generator. Generates sine waves at harmonic
intervals. Each harmonic would have an individual output. Probably
best realized with a wavetable.
13. A module with comparators and other logic functions.
14. A quantizer module.
15. A modular vocoder.

I'd also like to see the entire 500 series as has been proposed
previously as well as the #130 VCA.

Give me time, I'll think of some more.
