Sound design help - .mp3 link included

2003-03-02 by matutchiso <hutchshop@hotmail.com>

Looking for some help in creating recreating a type of sound I hear a
lot but have never been able to recreate myself. I have a basic
understanding of synthesis but I don't understand how the sound is
made up. It's a pad like synth chord sound - I've posted an example
on the yahoo groups site under the files section. Below is the link:

I have a sampler so I can layer elements from my motm. I can hear
multiple layers in the sound, but there is something about the way
the vca and filter is configured that I just don't understand.

Thanks for the help and discussion,
-Matt

Hi,
To me this mp3 sounds like it consists of two main "instruments". An
muted electric piano and a brassy (sawtooth) sound. I believe a
bandpass filter (possibly a "wah" effect algorithm) is applied to the
piano sound along with a low pass to the brass (manually swept). Both
sounds have a delay and a chorus effect.

What synth did this sound come from?

 Andrew

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
