I was thinking of getting a Miniwave module but wanted to have the MOTM
stooge panel. Would it be easy to convert from an assembled module or is it a
(considering I have hardly any experience) "You'll shoot your eye out"
situation?

You'll have to disassemble the assembled MiniWave a little bit (LEDs,
pots), and drill some holes to mount the PCB to a Stooge bracket.
There's quite a bit of work involved in drilling the panel and
attaching the LEDs and pots, but it certainly is possible. I suggest
getting Larry's MiniWave conversion instructions first and reading
through them to see what you're up against. You can skip all the
parts related to soldering parts on the board, but you'll have to do
everything else.

I think that it would be wise to start with the kit. For one thing,
getting the pots out of the assembled board is not for a beginner.

You might also consider the Blacet/MOTM converter panel as a pretty
painless way to go. You could start with an assembled MW, easily add a
few 1/4" jacks and be done.
