My question is why? What was your reasoning to buy this instead of 
equivalent MOTM kits?

For $120 more than the Big Briar piece, you have fully integrated 
genuine modules with way more functionality. Two LFOs instead of one, 
one being VCed, VCed lag, 3 colors of noise, s&h has track and hold 
mode, etc.
