I think 1.25" is as big as it should go.. It will still stand out and look
cool. stick with the same look (PKES?) but just jack it up a size or two.
   No 3 inchers please....

Why did they use the big knob on the Bode?

For looks...to stand out amongst other modules in a modular system?

For functionality...for easier fine tuning of the frequency shift?

Would the large knob would make smaller movements more controlled?

OK, I've seen everyone's comments so far and as long as it's the regular
MOTM knob, it seems pretty 'doable' to me. Now I pose another question:
There are two pitch controls fine and course; would you like it on the
course or fine control?

Here comes round two... :)

ding

I say Coarse. With a big knob, the coarse control will not be "too
coarse". The smaller fine control can then be used to tweak the sweet
spot.

Tony--

I was joking about a HUGE knob. A great pot is MORE
important.

It would really be nice since you have the space on
the FS to use full-size Alco knobs instead of the
diminutive ones. And conform to "standard" MOTM
spacing and locations if possible.

Well, both Coarse and Fine need the larger knob for ease of dialing
in. The other controls could have the smaller knobs. It would look
cool that way!

Tony,

From the standpoint that the module has a "Fine" control, I don't see
the point of making either a large knob. For my $.02, I would prefer
standard size knobs. If it must be, then it would seem to make sense to
have the larger knob on the "fine" control.

If there were to be a larger size knob, I would vote for the "coarse" control
to use it. It's both the most important knob and the one that will be most
used.
