Now, you're talking about waveform synchronization, using the SYNC inputs on
the VCO? Not a larger-scale rhythmic synchronization? Just need to define
what you mean by synching the synthesizer to audio.

hello wizzzzards of the deep ;o)

i'd like to sync my motm to audio

i have no idea how :o)

i have a 300 and a 320 module with sync possibilities.

i would like to get a syncing signal out of misc audio and sync the
300 and or 320 to this, and then use these modules to voltage control
my other modules.

(i'd like to make remixes of some sort of some dub tracks etc that i
have on vinyl)

i don' t know if this is possible, but i' d appreciate any input and
brainstorming!

thank YOU!

hi,

i would like to sync the lfo or vco to existing (multi-layered)
music - i guess larger-scale rhythmic synchronization would be the
description! not to other vco's etc - i do understand the concept of
syncing vco's etc. thanks for helping out here!

Note that you may need to first amplify the audio signal to modular signal
levels. Also, you could probably use the 820 LAG instead of the 420 LP.
You could then feed the signal into the 700, or maybe instead the 850 to
produce a gate. However, I'm wondering if there will be some phase lag
introduced by the filter which will cause a delay in the generated gate.
You may get better results if you rectify the signal, say with a Wavefolder,
before sending to the LPF.

Cheers,
George

Good point; full-wave rectification would go a long way to making the AC
into DC and therefore lightening the burden on the lag/LPF.

I'm stupid enough to take a guess at how something like this might work. I
would think you could run your audio though one of the MOTM LPF filters
until the predominantly left audio was the bass drum thump. Maybe the bass
drum thump might be clean enough to use for a sync pulse into the 320 to
restart your LFO wave at each thump. Or, you might be able to set an 850
pedal interface to produce a gate from those peaks. Might have to rectify
the audio into the 850 first.
