Femto-Update

1999-09-24 by Paul Schreiber

1) Tweaking the '410 with JH. Trying to cover the spread of Vactrols, caps,
op amps, etc
to have the widest musical range. Waiting for new caps to arrive tomorrow
for final round of
educated guessing. This unit has *no trimmers*, so there is some 'slop' in
the controls.

Approved silkscreen stencil today. Will not have the little box area: this
looked dorky and added cost
to me. Extended the "half tick" marks slightly as the knobs covered them up
too much.

Note that to get the most use out of the unit (the controls are
interactive), youu will have to RTFM
(this means you, T.F.)

2) Received new MOTM-800 pcbs with Rocket's official Trigger ADSR on Roland
Gate Only mod. Adds a diode
(to protect 555 input) and a wire to switched trigger jack. Will build these
up over weekend. I owe several
folks 800s, and these will ship next week. I need to revise the manual
slightly and kit up.

3) Received early (!) gift: MOTM-320 pcbs arrived! Will solder that up as
well. I need to do the front panel,
so we are still 3-4 weeks away from shipping. There is also 4 solid days in
there somewhere to finish up
(yea!) big non-MOTM project. (MOTM now funded for 12 more months at *least*
!).

4) The 410s will start shipping (unless painter screws me over) Monday the
4th.

5) JH & PS are working on new secret modules! Keep those soldering irons
warm.

Will these have the 12V Zener to increase the maximum attack time? If not,
can you recommend a semi officially approved mod for those of us willing to
do it?

I left it alone, because I wanted the backwards compatibility with the 150
Rev As out there.

I will post a mod, but it involves cutting traces.

Femto-Update

2002-07-31 by Paul Schreiber

1) After a 2-day marathon session, I just submitted the MOTM-450 Fixed Filter Bank *breadboard*
to the board shop. I got everything to fit on a 5 x 6.75 board, 5 pots in-line at 1.500" spacing.

This thing as a *ton* of parts. Like 60 capacitors, 38 resistor networks, 35 discrete resistors
and 16 ICs. Translate: start saving up! I'm too tired to think of a price, and assembled? HA!
Assembled will have to be wave soldered. There are over *750* solder joints in this pup. I'll
have to ship *2* bags of organic........

2) Angie will finish both the '490 and '390 kits tomorrow. I need to finish the manuals. I have
my sister in town this weekend, I'm taking a little break. Look for kits to arrive starting
Thursday of next week.

3) I'm quoting out WaveWarper parts, stay tuned.

4) MOTM-190 done, I will revise the pcb this weekend and send off for pc boards and new panels.
The panel shop takes about 3 weeks.

Nap time!!

Wow, almost as many parts as the '480... ;)
