I've heard it pronounced that way, but then Beavis & Butthead still connect
it with urine.

How about oo-RAH-noos? With a trilled "r"? That should be different enough.

(Not that anything we decide here will change the inevitable...)

I had a Classics professor in college who said that this particular Greek
deity's name could be more accurately pronounced "UR-an-os" rather than
"yer-AYN-us", thus potentially saving the composure of thousands of
grade-school children every year.
