Looks like an amazingly clean machine, although the seller is in Germany. He
has something I would MUCH rather have than a CS80:

I personally think in Europe a correct price for a non midi CS80 is around 2000$, maybe 2500 if perfectly clean, 7500$ is outrageous,
anyway I could notice that it has been relisted for the second week and for a while it became not available any more and afterwards relisted. I do really hope nobody would ever bid with these prices because it would mean to spoil any possibility to buy good old gear ar reasonable prices whenever serious and professional users might be interested.

I agree with you there - Waldorf over Yamaha any day! However, that's
approximately DOUBLE the going rate of a Wave in Germany. I *nearly* bought
Peter Gorges' (Wizoo) mint condition 16-voice blue Wave for $4000 last year.

There's a very small market for these instruments around the world, and I'd bet
that most of the people that would even consider purchasing a Wave have their
eyes set squarely on a Waldorf Q+ and/or Hartmann Neuron, both of which will be
released very soon.

I wonder how much it would cost to just ship the thing from Germany to the
U.S. (I assume that this is the intent of the seller, since he lists the
price in $US whereas most of his other items are priced in Euros.) According
to my copy of "Vintage Synthesizers" a CS80 weighs 220 lbs.

Actually, the cost to ship from Germany isn't much different as the cost
to ship from, say, San Diego to Pittsburgh in the USA. A CS-80, insured
for $3000, shipped air freight (taking about 5 days) was $230.00 total
when I had mine shipped by BAX Global. From Germany would be perhaps
$250, not incuding any applicable duty taxes.

You could buy ~38 MOTM kits for the BuyItNow price and have them all built
before you finished getting the CS-80 up and running properly. <g>

I sold my CS80 three years ago for $2000.00. It was in perfect
working condition. I think it actually weighed about 250 lbs. It
had a road case as well so in the case it weighed about 350 lbs.
Thankfully the buyer picked it up himself although I had to help
load it.

It was a great synth, but I'd rather invest in MOTM modules!

I don t know how happy Paul would be at having to put together 38 kits though... ;) ... You could buy ~38 MOTM kits for the BuyItNow price and have them all

If they were MOTM-480's, you may be right. But, let me clarify: I meant
buying the kits and having ME build them - I'm a slow poke!
