So Paul, After 320 and 410, what's the current thinking on module release order? SSM VCF? SEM VCF? Preamp? Sequencer? Effects Farm? FWIW, I need a 4 pole filter badly - I just can't get those smooth horn/string sounds out of the 420! Dave Bradley Principal Software Engineer Engineering Animation, Inc. daveb@...

So it looks like the sequencer is displacing the "1U flood" except for preamp and envelope follower? Chris (not unhappy, just curious)

The new release order looks like: Triple Preamp Envelope Follower SSM2040 clone - 4 pole LPF with VC Q and a special treat (no, not telling!) Mixer After that, will write the "official Sequencer Specification 1.0" which is the design document the sequencer is 'frozen to'. This will be in PDF format, with 2 weeks for comment. It is not certain how much I will be able to do with holidays & vacation after that. I am also working on a VC lag (new SPICE program arrived today!) But I want to be clear on one point: the software effort is 3-4 man-months just for Version 1.0.0 Some of the I/O code is written (display, FLASH memory, EEPROM, etc) but it is a massive undertaking. Therefore, from Thanksgiving to release, *very little* R&D will occur on new modules. Hopefully, I can ship what I have! :) I will offer "beta units" for testing. In order to beta, you have to pay for it, even if it sucks. You will get newer HW/SW as needed. You *must* have a PC with W95/98 and a free serial port. No whining about Amigas or your Sinclair Z-80 or that Motorola-based computer whose name escapes me :) You must pay for the beta, but the money is applied to a "real" one or you can get refunded. Did I mention this is also expensive (close to $10,000 in development/initial parts cost)? Paul S.

I will try to "flood", but I am worried about the sequencer task. Paul S. -----Original Message----- From: Christopher Jeris <cjeris@...> To: motm@onelist.com <motm@onelist.com> Date: Monday, September 13, 1999 5:25 PM

LH: As this seems to be a place where one expresses opinions
with votes, I cast one vote for the flood including the:

LH: AND, the 310 VCO before a dry spell associated with
the long R&D time of the sequencer.

What ever happened to the 1 unit VCA plans? Mark T

I'm trying to find a decent VCA that can be linear/log response. Paul S. -----Original Message----- From: Mark T <mmt@...> To: motm@onelist.com <motm@onelist.com> Date: Monday, September 13, 1999 7:56 PM

Oh yea. Thanks Mark. I forgot that one. Please put that on my "before DoMOAS" list too.
