Performance Controllers

Performance Controllers

2002-02-22 by Les Mizzell

I'm now in the stage where I'm considering performance controllers for my
modular...

As one option, I'm looking at the Wiard Joystick Controller:
http://www.wiard.com/access/access.html

However, I'm really liking the Tactex controller on the new Moog Voyager, at
least in theory since I haven't seen it yet...

Is anybody aware of a freestanding CV controller (I ain't using MIDI) like
the Moog Tactex?

Anybody tried to gutted/modded a Korg Kaoss pad to output CV?

Other options in a similar direction?

As far as I know, the Kaoss Pad outputs CC messages as you slide
around on it. You'd need a MIDI->CV converter, and probably an MOTM
VC LAG to cut down on the zippering, but it would be very cool.

Prefer NO MIDI anywhere in sight......CV only!

Turns out that Grant Richter (Wiard) has already managed to convert a Kaoss.
I've writing an email to him now...

There a note on it at: http://www.buchi.de/sdiy/ShowPost.ASP?35825

Thanks!
