SOT: patchbay help
1999-09-08 by mark scetta
slightly? off-topic: i have an old tascam PB-32P 1/4" patchbay that i am
integrating into my MOTM setup. i have taken it apart to see how this
sucker is wired and it seems that there is no way around the fact that **a
cord plugged into an upper rear jack automatically gets sent to its
corresponding lower rear jack.** (this loop gets broken upon inserting a
cord into the front upper jack.) however, what i want is a
straight-through patchbay so that when i plug my mixer's output into a top
rear jack and route the bottom jack to an input channel on the mixer it
doesn't create an automatic connection. i want it simple! basic! is that so
hard!? *whimper*
or: can someone help me re-think this so i don't have to go into every 1/4"
jack and pull out the little tabs that reroute the signal?
