personally i used shielded wire only on the input wire. i figure this 
module will mostly be used for CV or distorting audio so if it gets a 
little 'dirty' with interference i'm not going to worry about it.

yes square is always pin 1 and the 'hot' wire as you say for oakley boards.

i shorted my CV inputs (NOT outputs!) to ground using the 
resistor-lead-on-the-switchcraft-jack method. connect beveled lug to top 
lug, just like MOTM.

don't let the oakley instructions get you down, another time you will be 
happy that they offer so much flexibility. :^)

FWIW i connected my grounds jack-to-jack with uninsulated copper wire, with 
an insulated piece going back to the pcb EXACTLY how paul does not 
recommend, and exactly what i believe the oakley instructions do recommend. 
i have not heard any radio stations through it yet.... but be warned - i 
did this once before in a DIY module and i believe it did cause problems 
and i ended up rewiring. of course in theory it is best to bring all your 
grounds on dedicated wires as close to the power supply as you can get 
them. thus bringing each jack back to the pcb is better than wiring them up 
jack-to-jack.

MOTMized Wavefolder Wiring?

Hi Guys,

I am about to wire up my Oakley wavefolder and the NON-Motm instructions 
have left me with a question. How many Sheilded wires did anyone who built 
one of these use. Did you use sheilded for all wires?

On the PCB there are 2 pads for wiring connections, 1 Square 1 Round. I 
assume the square one is the pin one like IC's or the hot wire for the CV 
connections?

To normalize the CV inputs to ground there is a pad on each CV input. Now I 
could wire the top lug of each switchcraft to here right to normalize the CV 
to ground. OR I could put a resistor lead clipping to the beveled lug which 
will be connected to the board ground "Jack to Jack" like the back of a 
multiple module. Which is the best way to short CV ins to ground?

This is true, but don't forget that the Oakley ground is not the same as
the MOTM ground. Module ground is never taken to the front panel
earthing lugs, but the so-called 'panel ground' is.
