VCO sync

VCO sync

2002-01-28 by sikorsky

hello all,

and now - inspired from something that was posted on Gas Station, i've been
experimenting with trying to alter the sync signal between a pair of VCOs -
even though the signal is either 'on' or 'off' i've had some fun routing
hard sync through a VCA modulated by a second EG

anyone got any other sync tips..?
oh hang on - what about using some S&H to modulate a narrow pulse from a VCO
masquerading as hard sync..?
erm - i might go and try that one, i think it might do something rather
obvious

cheers

PB, I would be most interested in hearing about your wanderings in this
arena. I love the 300 osc classic hard sync tones. Sometimes I like to
soft synth too, The soft sync on the 300 is perhaps not as soft as what I
might like for some applications. if you uncover methods that produce
varying levels of "grip" so to speak, that would be cool information to
have.

hello all,
i tried this one - a classic 2 x VCO hard sync combo, into a 440LPF, 440 fm1
modulated by the inverse EG output, except that the hard sync on the 2nd VCO
was controlled by the narrow pulse output of a third VCO. the 3rd VCO was
v/oct modulated by an MOTM101, clocked to the original gate signal, a slew
setting of around 4 was great

i think i must have pre-tuned the frist two VCOs otherwise the is no reason
why it should have sounded so good

another thing would be to PWM a third VCO as sync controller..?

we'll have to see tonight - after i've finished my OMS820
cheers

Look for "Trenntrafo" (that's 230V - 230V) and pick one with
center tapped winding.
