Back from NAMM. Sorry, brain is fried pudding. A few quick things:

a) show was 100 TIMES better than last year. Fewer "gawkers", more serious buyers. I will upload
some pics in about 1 hour to www.synthtech.com/namm

b) Save money for the Encore Freq Shifter. You WILL want one.

c) Reality hits: I need to start shipping again. Be patient, feel free to yell/cuss/whine via
email/phone.

d) I *plan* to have all kits AND assembled orders shipped by Feb. 1st. Did I mention, just be
patient??!?

e) MicroModules planned for around Feb. 10th. CS-80 filter AND MOTM-130 for around Feb. 20th.

Thanks to Larry, Thomas White, and Robert Rich for providing the equipment. Nice to see several
folks in person. BTW, save up for Robert's new CD (with Ian Boddy) entitled "Outpost". More
'melodic' than Bestiary, still lots of MOTM. Will be out around April 1st.

OK, off to Photoshop, I am zonked.

Welcome back. You're entitled to be fried. :)

That is amazing. :)

Survived yet another NAMM. This was a record MOTM user turnout, I counted like 12 users this
year.

The good news is that the uSeq prototype didn't break at all. In fact, the system of 47 modules
was turned on Tuesday around 2PM, and *left running* until Sunday at 6PM. AND...we *never had to
retune the VCOs*. Everyone who saw it was quite impressed, IMHO. The uSeq software is about 6-8
weeks away from release. There is no easy way to download code into it (the uP is in a 44-pin
PLCC socket), but I don't plan to ship buggy code, either :)

I'll upload some pictures when I can get my ISDN line working: this is all on the backup 56K
modem. What joy, downloading 957 emails (all but 8 were deleted). ZZZzzzzzzz.........

As far as shipping status goes: I'm out or low (<5) on every kit. It will take a full 3 weeks to
restock and flowing again. I also have to ship 35 assembled modules before Feb. 1st. So, relax
and let me get back into the swing of things. All the 'new stuff' is March-April shipping.
Tomorrow...the dreaded TAX CALCULATION DAY.

Just got home (and have to be back at work at 8AM tomorrow...boo).

a) Had a great time, too busy too walk around the show. Everyone said the booth
was the best one there, anyway.
b) thanks to all the MOTM customers that stopped by...too many to mention. Japan
and Europe were both represented.
c) I have 142 emails in my in-boxes. I'm doing 3 full days of TDK training for
my real job (Mon-Wed) and my son has a big science project due Friday. Let me
decompress this week a bit.

1 - if you think you are owed a non-VCO kit, email me
2 - Paul H. is out of some panels and is restocking the kits. It may be mid-Feb
until all kits are 100% stocked
3 - prices going up in 8 days.

d) I took ~20 booth shots, will post later in the week
e) played with a Synclavier II...very cool! Beautiful keyboard action. Also
imaging 64MBx16 of DRAM memory...using 256K (not a typo) SIMMS. Almost *1000* of
them.
f) will post Frac info next weekend.
g) MOTM-650 #1 has shipped :)

My buddy Ray was down at NAMM and got to meet Paul and all of the other synth dudes (Bruce, Peter et al.) at the Analog Heaven booth.

He was VERY impressed with the new microSequencer. He did say that the booth was set up very well. He also said that Paul was a really nice guy, but I assume that's just 'cause they're both Texans. ;-)

Glad you had a good show.

I hope to get down there next year...

NAMM photos/New MOTM module

2006-01-24 by thomas white

Someone posted a link to some NAMM photos that has been updated daily from the show. My question...
What is the 1U module Paul has in his lower rack at NAMM? It has paper labels over the pots and jacks. New Filter? Hmmmm, what could this thing be? Any ideas out there?

I found some MOTM related NAMM pictures out there. Notice the SMALL

Does this bandpass filter have the same or similar squelchy, if not cranky, behavior of the currently released Lo/Hi pass version you designed? I hope so... Details please,
Thanks Crow
