help: switching email adress for motm list

2002-01-08 by jhaible@t-online.de

How can I switch email adress for the MOTM list without
going thru the yahoo registration process ?

I know it worked somehow when I switched from jhaible@...
to jhaible@... - must have been shortly after the switch of
the list from what-was-the-provider to yahoo. I just cannot remember.
I really don't want to go thru a yahoo account for switching back
to jhaible@...
is there a simple email command to do this ?

Sorry for the OT question - I'm sure someone knows a quick answer ...

Thanks,

JH.

Just sign on to the MOTM group as if you are going to read on-line…

Click on the “edit membership” hyperlink on the right hand side of the screen,

Click on the “you can add an email address” hyperlink under the Email Address heading,

It will then ask you to verify your password, enter password and click “continue”,

Scroll down to “Email Information” type in your new address in either Email 1 or Email 2 then click “finished

You will then be sent an Email to that address with a link to ‘verify’ that Email address, click the link and type in the verification code provided and you’re in business…

I had to do this last month when @home went under and Att changed to @attbi…

Hope this helps!

Hi Al,

well this is exactly what I wanted to *avoid*. (;->)
The funny thing is, yahoo does not even know my account. I tried to search
for my ID and password, giving them my date of birth, zip code and so on,
but they could not find my data !!
Well, now this is not a bad thing. I think I had never given these data to
yahoo - I might have once given them to one-list, however.

If you see this mail of mine, the switch has worked nevertheless. I found
the information at this site:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/motm/

With the email commands
Subscribe: motm-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Unsubscribe: motm-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
I can do it all without even touching the yahoo web surface.

That's what I was looking for.
Anyway, thanks for helping.
(I thought I'd share this, it might be interesting for others, too.)

JH.

I had the exact same problem last month. I also had signed up with One-List,
not Yahoo...

But the important question is, can any of the 4x0's be used to filter out
this crap?
