The MOTM-320 is about to go to board shop. Here are some final details.

a) There is no RANGE switch, not needed. This is due to the exponential
response of the FREQ pot. (well, the *vco* is exponential!)

b) speaking of that pot: I am about to call it 'RATE' since the LFOs in
the -410 are RATE.
I want to reserve FREQ for the VCO/VCF and most people I have talked to
refer to
"LFO speed" or "LFO rate" more often than "LFO frequency".

c) [Dave & Charles, wake up!] Need to change the pic to be as follows:

LED RATE
-/+ FM
MOD SHAPE

jacks as before.

d) the LED is a bipolar red/green. There is a 4-way jumper option on the pcb
to connect
the LED driver to any of the 4 waveshapes. This is because each one will
"look different'
based on the SHAPE control voltage (which in turn changes the symmetry
and/or DC offset
of the output). The pads are on a 0.1 x 0.1 grid so you could use a 2-row
4-pos header
and a DIP shunt (like on the MOTM-100 kit) and select. However, the kit will
not include these,
just an explanation (there are already a zillion parts as it is). You can
built it, use a jumper
clip to see which one you like (*everybody out there should own at least 2
Pomona # 3781-18
'Mini-Grabber' test leads [I have about 30 different sizes/colors!]*) and
then you can take a scrap
resistor lead and solder to the *top* of the pcb pads.

e) the LED comes with the leads already soldered/heatshrinked with the panel
holder. Therefore, the
astute builder will note that to prevent another solder-on-the-top-pads
routine, I will instead provide
2 "turret" terminals, similar to the ones on the Power One supplies in the
MOTM-900. These first solder
into the pcb, then after you put the LED through the front panel, you solder
the wires to the turrets.

The '320 pcb will go to the shop on Thursday, so we are talking around Oct.
1 for shipment.

Very cool. Two MOTM modules shipping within a month of each other. This
will be a good fall. My wife is now ready for one of the 1U easier
modules. I have (lied and) told her the 410 and 320 would be too difficult
for her (so I can have them all to myself).

RATE or SPEED either one seem appropriate for LFOs to me.

Dave,
When you send .BMP files Hotmail.com opens them up in a new window as a text
file. Have you any idea why. I can receive .BMP files from everyone else
normally. Yours seem to be the only ones I can't receive.
