700

Hello All -

A little while ago there was some discussion about the 700 in audio
mode. Folks were noticing a 'click' on switching. I went through
this when I first got the module, and as I remember the thing to be
aware of is that even though there is a brief silence inserted while
switching, if the waveforms are out of sync, a click will happen.
Imagine a sine wave that gets switched as it is heading up, while the
sine wave being switched in is heading down. The silence is brief so
what you get is:

               |\
               | \
               | \
               | \
               | \
         ------
         |
         |
         |
         |
         |
        /
       /
      /

I have a better picture of this, if anyone wants to see it I'll post
it in the Files section.

This module doesn't morph one wave into another: it simply switches
between the two with a brief silence in the middle. Syncing helps as
does envelope tweaking. It takes a bit of fiddling but you can get
smotth transitions. Note that usues different waveforms for A and B
is more difficult.

Should read: "but you can get SMOOTH transitions. Note that USING
different waveforms for A and B is more difficult".

Sorry about that...

I think is clearer if you think when editing samples using computer: you\ufffdll
hearf a click sound if you didn\ufffdt cut at zero crossing.
Best Regards,

Josue.

Just so, Josue. The other picture I have is from a DAW with this
illustrated...
