Envelope question

2001-09-30 by mrnezumi@yahoo.com

I just got my Kenton Pro-2000 and am finally getting to hear my MOTM set-up. My 800 (I only have one right now; the second one should arrive
this week) is not functioning as I expected it to. The Decay and Sustain are working oddly. I double checked the wiring and layout and I think I
got it right, but I'm not confident I have the Kenton set right. Could someone tell me what the proper settings are? I'm particularly confused
about the gate voltage setting. It talks about the gate being +/- 5v, but also talks about +15v.

Thanx,
Mr. Nezumi

Hi all,
Is it normal to hear a click sound when an MOTM envelope attack is at is less than about 3? Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks,
-Matt

yup. my three 800s do that. attack time is a matter of personal taste, i
think, and for me the sweet spot lies somewhere around 3ish. faster
attacks are good for percussion. also, if you're putting into a 110, play
with the CV MOD amt. and with burying the gain below zero. there's a lot
of flexibility in there with these really fast attack times.

enjoy!

bleep.
out.

Yes, it's normal, you're not doing anything wrong. You're just
hearing the remarkably fast MOTM 800 attack. No sluggishness there.
