Getting back to 'normal'

Getting back to 'normal'

2001-09-19 by Paul Schreiber

Started shipping in small doses today. Will 'ramp up' over the next week or
so. Waiting until next week to
ship overseas (this includes overseas copies of Bestiary).

I have built up 24 assembled modules over the last 10 days or so, and have
hired a new assembler who starts
next Tuesday. Hopefully, the assembled backlog will be gone about the time
the MOTM-850 begins to ship.
I am giving the CAD drawings to the metal shop tomorrow for it, and also
sending the pcb out for fab
tomorrow. Could use a few more orders for it (cough cough).

The next modules will be the MOTM-310 uVCO, followed by the MOTM-130 dual
VCA, then most likely the
WaveWarper. After that, NAMM becomes an issue. Let's hope that NAMM isn't a
total bust with 1/2 the attendance
of last year (in some ways, that may not be so bad). I really want to do the
VC Pulse Divider before NAMM.

Thanks again for your support, and hopefuuly the new 'normal' is not that
different from the old 'normal'.

Just curious to see what the status is of the Pre-amp module. Is it
going to come after all of these? Thats not to say that module X
should come before or after module Y. It's just that I haven't heard
anything mentioned about it in a while. I haven't bought any modules
yet but when I do I'm hoping this will be one of them :)

take it easy

I just spoke with Paul about this. He doesn't think it is worth bringing
out the pre-amp at this point until the envelope follower is about ready to
go. And based on his current comments, I don't think we will see either of
these modules until at least a couple of months after NAMM.

Cheers!

Imho, I don't think it's worth bringing out the pre-amp module at all. I
don't want to argue the point again -- I've already expressed my opinion
and been flamed for it. Anyway, since the pre-amp and the envelope
follower are a likely combination for anyone using a guitar or bass with
the MOTM system, couldn't an "input gain" knob be added to the envelope
follower to give it a pre-amp function??

FPs are in the process of being drilled. Have most parts, but not all.
