MOTM-320 VCLFO inches as well.......

1999-08-27 by Paul Schreiber

Finished all bench testing of the MOTM-320 VC LFO prototype tonite.

Will start CAD cycle (schematic capture, B.O.M., pcb placement, pcb layout)
tomorrow.

Again: this isn't designed for a VCO replacement, but you can mess around in
the <2Khz
area. It has no HF track, and there is no low Rbe, matched pair (there is a
tempco resistor).

Kit is about a 7 on the complex scale: many resistors and about 15 (!)
discrete NPN/PNP/FETs
(recall this is loosly based on the VCS-3).

On the low end: I got 1 cycle in about 18 minutes with a cheesy cap.

Will keep you posted!

I didn't know this! Is there anything else worth swiping from the VCS-3 (any
owners out there care to comment)?

well i dont know more for an LFO ,but the Filter of the VCS3 as a
MOTM module may be interesting ,its so smooth.
BTW can anybody can explain me the VCS3 Filter design ?
what makes it so special? in some settings it has the characteristic of a
a notch-Filter,sometimes it crossmodulates extremely etc. .
The EMS-Rehberg manual says simply its a lowpass/bandpass-Filter.
i dont understand that too.
