More [motm] arpeggio again

More [motm] arpeggio again

2001-08-01 by J. Larry Hendry

OK, I just started thinking about this one (VCA gates). Now, it requires a
module we don't have (pulse divider). I am using my Blacet pulse divider,
but I am limited to certain pulse division ratios. I don't have 5 to use on
my 5 step sequencer. But, what if we speed up the clocking rate from the
LFO, and use that pulse to gate the VCA. Then run that pulse also over to
the pulse divider, and divide by the number of steps in your
dual-700-ala-sequencer. Then, use the pulse divider output to gate the 800
(staring the sequence). That would work for even timing. Oh this stuff is
fun to play with. I've had this simple 5 note sequencer running for a
couple of hours. Luckily, headphones prevent my wife from killing me.

i get lost somewhere trying to work out where
the vca gates come from, and of course the ultimate
goal is to create four note sequences (i've only a
pair of 700s...)

If you get the settings just right, you can turn your envelope generator
into a simple pulse divider. I advise using an oscilloscope to get the
exact settings.

If you have a UEG, you can use it as a pulse divider at 8:1.

I have this one singing away as a 4 step sequencer. I have gates going to
VCAs and VCFs from the LFO pulse. I divided the LFO pulse by 4 with my
Blacet FD and used that to trigger the sequencer. I dumped the EG in favor
of the 820 for turning the pulses into a sloped voltage for the 700s. Works
swell. It is not very handy to change frequency of the LFO as you must also
tweak the 820 lag as you go. But hey. It was a lot of fun messin' with.

hello all,

ah, the fog clears - so simple
unfortunately i've got to go to work,and i've only one functioning 822 & 831
and they don't fit in my cabinet (rotary switch issues) , and i've only one
spare power slot at the moment argh !!!!
still, i can alter the original patch to just run an 822 and spend all
evening re-enacting Georgio Moroder coming up with the sequence for "I Feel
Love"

can't you mix together some kind of 'tempo' cv for both the LFO fm input and
the 820 up/down input

oh yes, the 822's at work and i've a leaving do to go to tonight - ho hum...

cheers
